What is the HOME INVENTORY VIDEO SERVICES Mission & Dedication Statement?

HOW I GOT STARTED

Hi! My name is Paul Wechsler,

I live in a townhouse condominium development where we have groups of 6-8 town houses attached to each other. About a year and a half ago, one of my neighbor's kids started a fire, and by the time the fire department arrived, the adjacent 2 houses were on fire. When the fires were brought under control, a total of 3 townhouses including the house where the fire had started were totally destroyed.

Later on, when I was talking to my neighbors whose homes were totaled by the fire they told me that they had no records of what they owned. Even 6 months after the fire they still couldn't remember all the things they owned that were burned in the fire. That is when I got the Idea to start a Home Inventory Video business to take detailed digital photos where I can electronically engrave identifying names dates and account numbers on each photo and video along with a written inventory of peoples' possessions and property for residential as well as business owners. The purpose is to be able to prove to the IRS, the Police, and to your Insurance company what you lost in the event of a fire, theft, or storm damage. This way, victims of the tragedy would have a method to remember what they owned after they sufffered a loss that traumatized them.

WHO WE ARE

Home Inventory Video Services is a privately owned company dedicated to giving its clients personalized service. We video record and digitally photo the contents of your home or business to enable you to prove to the insurance company what you owned and to identify your stolen valuables to the Police at time of loss. In addition, we prepare a written inventory in conjunction with the video and digital photos all presented in a beautiful leather bound album with backup copies stored in our fire proof vault.

WHAT WE DO

We do a video recording of the contents of your home or business. We do digital photography of your valuable possessions and create a computer generated inventory of the items that we video and digitally photograph. We engrave identifying information on all photos showing:

Date photo was taken
Your name
The account number we assign to you
A special identifying code number keyed into the written inventory for identification to your insurance company or police department.

We store a back up copy in our off premises fireproof vault so that we can always reproduce back up copies of your possessions in case your records are lost. We also provide free of charge in the first year an update, if requested, to your written inventory if there are any new additions or deletions to your inventory.

HOW WE ARE DIFFERENT

We believe that you deserve our full attention to detail and quality of workmanship. We custom make a video, digital photo and written inventory of your possessions and property. This means that after we take all videos and digital photos of your home or business, if we feel that another visit is necessary to create a more complete inventory, we will come back at no additional charge. We use the latest computer technology enabling us to engrave electronically all necessary identifying information onto the digital photos. This will speed up settlement of your claim with the insurance company and speed up identification of stolen property.
